TEACHERS
Learn Lindy Hop, the joyful classic Swing Dance, created by Afro-American dancers in Harlem, New York in the 1920s and 30s, and done all around the world today!
Come join us and find out why we are so excited to share this dance with you!
In this course you will mostly learn 8-count Lindy Hop. 6-count and 8-count patterns are the main rhythm patterns in Lindy Hop. We also do other rhythm patterns all the time. It is all Lindy Hop.
You can take our two Lindy Hop beginners courses (one focuses on 8-count, the other on 6-count), in either order, or in the same session of courses.
We strongly encourage you to take each or our beginner courses more than once, for more thorough learning, to expand your repertoire, and for fun. It will never be exactly the same course, especially if the teachers are different. It is also 1/2 price (rounded to a multiple of $5) when you take the same course again in the same role.
Once you have done our 6-count and 8-count Lindy Hop beginner courses at least once each, you can take our intermediate 1 courses.
Perk: Everyone who takes a weeknight course with us in this session gets 1/2 price admission to Saturday Night Swing on May 30th, after the last week of classes. Consider it your graduation party.

TEACHERS
Learn Solo Vernacular Jazz! It is very much part of Swing Dancing.
Note that this course is not a repeat of the previous Solo Vernacular Jazz Course with Alice & Philipp. It is a new course with mostly different material.
– Learn fundamental solo jazz moves that are part of Lindy Hop.
– Explore how to use them as variations in partner dancing (for both leads & follows).
– Discover rhythmical variations that make even simple steps exciting.
– Practice improvisation techniques to gain freedom and flow.
– Put it all together with fun short combos of moves.
Solo jazz is both a dance on its own and a tool to improve your Lindy Hop. Whether you want to practice without a partner, explore your own style, or learn what to do when you’re given freedom on the dance floor, this class is for you!
Come as you are – let’s move, groove, and play with jazz, together!
