PREREQUISITE
No dance experience or partner required, though some partner dancing experience is definitely an asset. Experienced dancers will have the opportunity to work on both leading and following in the workshop.

Swing Toronto presents a Rockabilly Jive Bootcamp with Vicky Yeung!
Come learn the basics of this dynamic dance in one afternoon. It is fast paced, upbeat and typically danced to Rockabilly or 50s Rock ‘n’ Roll style music.
Note that Rockabilly Jive is not the same as American Jive/East Coast Swing, Ballroom Jive or what is taught in the Swing Toronto Rock and Roll Swing class.
Vicky added Rockabilly Jive to her repertoire during her stint as a teacher, coach and competitor at PortOSwing Ecole de Danse in Quebec City. It quickly became one of her favourite swing dances. She is excited to bring this wonderful dance back to Toronto.
Did you take Vicky’s November 9th 2024 Rockabilly Jive workshop? We encourage you to take this one too, for practice, fun, brushing up, and for variations not taught in November. You get a big discount if you do (see prices).
NEED A PARTNER?
A partner is NOT required. It is common for people to attend by themselves. Partner rotation is allowed and encouraged in all lessons. You may register on your own or with a partner. Nevertheless, if you still seek a partner, please post that at the Facebook event.

Learn Solo Vernacular Jazz – Charleston & Tranky Doo Moves!
Solo Vernacular Jazz is very much part of the Lindy Hop and Swing Dance tradition. Learning them helps with all of your dancing, and Solo Jazz moves can be incorporated into you partner dancing.
Tranky Doo is a classic Swing Era Solo Jazz routine, done by Lindy Hoppers around the world.
Come to the whole workshop, or just to the the Solo Charleston part, or the Tranky Doo Moves part.
