TEACHERS
Learn Lindy Hop, the joyful classic Swing Dance, created by Afro-American dancers in Harlem, New York in the 1920s and 30s, and done all around the world today!
Come join us and find out why we are so excited to share this dance with you!
In this course you will mostly learn 6-count Lindy Hop. 6-count and 8-count patterns are the main rhythm patterns in Lindy Hop. We also do other rhythm patterns all the time. It is all Lindy Hop.
You can take our two Lindy Hop beginners courses (one focuses on 8-count, the other on 6-count), in either order, or in the same session of courses.
We strongly encourage you to take each or our beginner courses more than once, for more thorough learning, to expand your repertoire, and for fun. It will never be exactly the same course, especially if the teachers are different. It is also 1/2 price (rounded to a multiple of $5) when you take the same course again in the same role.
Once you have done our 6-count and 8-count Lindy Hop beginner courses at least once each, you can take our intermediate 1 courses.
NOTE RE VENUE: The June classes are in the Jackman Room at Eastminster. The July classes are a minute’s walk from there across Bloor Street at the St Barnabas Upper Hall. Both venues are a minute or two walk from the Chester subway stop, Carrot Common and each other.
PERK: Everyone who takes a weeknight course with us in this session gets free admission to Saturday Night Swing on July 20th!
SPECIAL DISCOUNT FOR THIS SESSION: Take two courses in this session, and pay the f/t student price for the lower priced of the two. (If you are a full-time student, you get a 20% discount for the lower priced course of the two, rounded to a multiple of $5, pay cash at the door.
